Online Reputation Management is the process of tracking, reporting and reacting to content posted online relating to your business. Social Media content, Social Networking pages, WikiPedia and Blogs can be strategically used to dominate search results and push down competitor rankings, negative posts and rating sites.
The core of this project relies on the success of social media efforts, as well as the introduction of multimedia search results.
Since social networks themselves need to be monitored, our search marketing team provides reports and checks in to ensure that the proper messaging is being distributed through “official” groups as opposed to user generated, or “unofficial” groups.
Multimedia, Social Media and “Universal Search”
Major search engines like Google now use what is called “Universal Search” when providing results to users. Universal Search is simply the integration of multimedia elements including images, videos, local results and social media content to the standard search results already in place.
These elements stand out to users, and according to industry studies, command a much higher click through rate. Best of all, these results also consume more visual space on the search result pages – which reinforces our goal of removing the negative messages.
Reporting and Tracking of Efforts
Since the potential for new negative web content exists, our reporting and tracking capabilities are both scalable and dynamic. Our reports are in place so that they provide you with a clear view of the search results – as well as our progress of pushing negative messages further down the list.
Using search engine ranking reports, our SEM team will monitor the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, MSN – and others upon request) on a quarterly basis for all negative content.
Our Initial Efforts
To accomplish the task of pushing negative content from the top of the search results, our teams will:
- Increase link popularity to all relevant web properties
- Upload videos to YouTube and similar media outlets
- Assist in the creation of content to build link popularity
- Create a Wikipedia entry
- Actively explore and capitalize on new content generation techniques
Quarterly Updates and Maintenance
On a quarterly basis our staff will provide reports that include the actual rankings and positions of the negative pages being tracked.
In conjunction with these reports, a summarization of our efforts will also be provided.
While these reports are your way of viewing our progress, our SEM team will provide the following efforts, behind the scenes:
- Explore link popularity opportunities
- Introduce new multimedia and social content to the search results
- Monitor the search engine results for new, offending materials
